Use this when a disconnect, malformed response or timing fault happens too rarely to watch live.

1. Confirm a short manual capture first and enable timestamps with enough precision to compare request and response timing.
2. Save to a dedicated folder with size-based rotation so a long run cannot fill the disk.
3. Record the configuration, device firmware, cable path and test start time beside the log.
4. Reproduce normal traffic, then leave the capture running without changing display or protocol settings.
5. After an incident, preserve the file before and after the event plus the matching application or system log window.

Success means the evidence contains the last valid exchange, the first failed exchange and recovery. Redact credentials and customer payloads before sharing the files with support.
